Paris Hilton just got a blast from her past. James McCauley, who claims he spent time with Paris in 1998 at the Provo Canyon School in Orem, Utah, says the heiress had a crush on him and wrote him intimate letters while there. “I was stoked because she was attracted to me,” says James, 25. “She turned to me.”

In the letters, which James has released publicly, Paris wrote that boys had no respect for her and that she needed therapy to overcome childhood demons. “She reached out to me and asked my advice on how to cope with being in such a regimented place,” James says. “There was a lot of attraction. We both felt it.”

“Thanks for lookin’ out for me — I really appreciate that,” Paris wrote to James in 1998, LifeandStylemag reports

“She thought I was cute,” says James.
