CBS reports that Party girl Paris Hilton is the star guest of Vienna’s prestigious Opera Ball on February 15. She’ll be attending as guest of Austrian socialite Richard Lugner, who confirmed himself at a press conference at his Vienna shopping mall. The American millionaire heiress will grace the social event together with her parents and three friends.

One of the friends was supposed to have been pop singer Britney Spears, Lugner added, but due to a falling-out between the two divas this will not be the case.

Lugner, a Vienna based building entrepreneur and well-known social figure has been known in the past to pay celebrities to accompany him and his wife to Vienna’s top social event, causing raised eyebrows among Vienna’s society elite.

Around 4600 guests from all spheres of life crowd the halls of Vienna’s State Opera, making it the social highlight of the year.
